ONEIDA COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE ENDORSES CANDIDATES FOR 2023 ELECTION
The Oneida County Democratic Committee met on February 9 to endorse local candidates who will run in Oneida County. This includes candidates for Judgeships and the Oneida County Board of Legislators. Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
Committee Chair Mitchell Ford commented, “The Oneida County Democratic Committee interviewed local women and men who want to represent our County in elected positions. We have the honor and privilege to endorse a group of dedicated individuals who will help to make Oneida County the best place to live, work, and study while embracing the democratic values we all espouse.
The following candidates were endorsed by the Committee:
- Judge Julie Cerio for Supreme Court Justice, NYS 5th Judicial District
- John Dillon for Supreme Court Justice, NYS 5th Judicial District
- Legislator Timothy Julian for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 19th District
- Legislator Caroline Gable Reale for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 15th District
- Legislator Chad Davis for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 14th District
- Legislator Evon M. Ervin for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 20th District
- Legislator Maria McNiel for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 22th District
- Legislator Anthony C. Leone for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 23th District
- Bill Maxim for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 6th District
- Crystal Faria for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 10th District
- Joseph Furgol for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 18th District
- David Testa for the Oneida County Board of Legislators, 21th District
ONEIDA COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE ENDORSES CANDIDATES FOR 2022 ELECTION
The Oneida County Democratic Committee met on February 25 to endorse candidates for the US Congress, Judgeships, NYS Senate, NYS Assembly, County Sheriff and County Clerk. Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
Committee Chair Mitchell Ford commented, “We were excited to endorse these candidates and present them to the public. Each individual brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and expertise. They will represent their constituents in a manner that exemplifies the democratic values of our community and country.”
The endorsed candidates are:

- Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon for NYS Assembly District 119
- Dan Buttermann for NYS Assembly District 122
- Sheriff Rob Maciol for Oneida County Sheriff
- Merima Smajic-Oren for Oneida County Clerk
